Happy Catholic Schools Week! Our week is jam packed with fun activities and experiences. I hope you posted our schedule on your refrigerator.
Join us for 10:00a.m. Mass on Sunday when the students will participate by taking on ministerial roles. Let’s pray and sing together. Mass will be followed by Open House and refreshments. We hope to see you there.
In the middle of February we will begin an after school chess club for students in grades K-6. Mr. George Krasnopolskiy will be at our Open House on Sunday to answer any questions you may have. A flier will also be sent home this coming week.
We hope many of you will be able to join us for lunch on Tuesday. If you wish to sit in the gym with your children you may bring a blanket along to make it more comfortable because you will be sitting on the floor. We will go through the lunch line in alphabetical order as follows:
11:00 – A-B
11:10 – C-H
11:20 – J-R
11:30 – S-W
The recipient for our Mission Carnival funds will be Sole Hope. As mentioned earlier, the children will bring in money throughout the week to support this endeavor. The class with the greatest amount at the end of the week will be given an extra recess.
I eagerly await the return of our eighth graders from Washington, D.C. I think this is the first time since I’ve been here that they have had good weather while there. I also know that they will have experienced some very awesome and inspiring moments.
We will begin our re-enrollment for the 2015-2016 school year this coming week. We will put a copy of the re-enrollment form and the tuition form on the website and we will send a hard copy by "Kid Mail". Please do not hesitate to call and ask questions.
Our sixth graders will be attending a Focus 11 Vocation Retreat Day at Chaminade High School with other sixth graders throughout the St. Louis area. It offers an opportunity for each student to reflect on his/her personal call to holiness and to consider a possible vocational call to the priesthood or consecrated life.
Can you believe that this coming Wednesday, January 28, is our 100th day of school? How quickly the year is passing. Let’s make the most of it.
Here’s a scripture quote to take you through the week:
Love knows no limit to its endurance,
No end to its trust,
No fading of its hope;
It can outlast anything.
Love never fails. (1 Cor.13:7-8)
Thank you for entrusting your children to us at St. Theodore School. As we celebrate Catholic Schools Week we pray for you and your children and thank God that you share in our school and parish community.
Have a blessed Catholic Schools Week!
